expands in USA
Hydraulic coupling specialist Holmbury Ltd has taken a
major step towards expanding its international operations with the
formation of Holmbury Inc. in the USA. For over a decade Holmbury’s
products have been marketed in the States by its distributor Integrated
Technologies Inc (I.T.I.). Whilst this arrangement had produced good
results, I.T.I winning Holmbury’s Distributor of the Year Award on
numerous occasions, market share was being increasingly threatened by far
east, European and Asian competitors. Holmbury’s Chairman David French
realised that decisive action was needed and so amicably negotiated the
ending of I.T.I.’s distributor agreement and formed Holmbury Inc.
David French founded Holmbury in 1982, with flat face
couplings as its main product line. Holmbury’s couplings became
extremely popular with many of the major construction industry OEMs
throughout the world because of their robust construction and longevity.
By 1999 the company’s activities had grown to the point where larger
premises were needed and it relocated to its current location in Vale
Rise, Tonbridge. Holmbury’s product range includes flat face,
conventional and screw couplings, hand operated valves and test points,
all of which are sold throughout the world.
