Holmbury launches heavy duty couplings
for the most severe pressure pulse applications
Holmbury Ltd is launching a new range of heavy duty,
high-pressure, hydraulic couplings. Designated the HSC 5000 Range, the
couplings are designed to withstand the most severe pressure pulse
applications, where other couplings have suffered rapid failure.
Consequently, they are particularly suitable for excavator hammer
attachments, rock crushers and test rigs. Another very important benefit
is their ability to be connected and disconnected under pressure. The
couplings connect with a screw mechanism in preference to a ball lock and
this totally eliminates Brinelling – the most common cause of coupling
failure in pulsing circuits. After hand connection the couplings are
nipped tight with spanners to prevent rotation or separation caused by
vibration or machine motion. Design factors that help ensure longevity are
robust construction, readily accessible seals for easy replacement and the
inclusion of caps and plugs to protect the thread and avoid the ingress of
contaminants.
Holmbury’s HSC 5000 couplings are available in sizes
from 3/8" to 2" BSP. Pressure ratings range from 500 bar to 250
bar for coupling sizes from 3/8" to 2" respectively.
